KAROLINA PELENDRITOU
ATHLETE, GOLD PARALYMPIC MEDALIST
Karolina Pelendritou was born in Limassol in 1986. She has been involved in swimming since childhood. At the age of 15, she was a member of the National Team and competed in the Games of the Small States of Europe in 2001 and the Commonwealth Games in 2002. That same year, she swam for the first time as a para-athlete after already experiencing vision problems. She participated in five Paralympic Games from ‘Athens 2004’ to ‘Tokyo 2020,’ winning a total of six medals, three of which were gold! She has won 13 medals in World Championships and 7 in European Championships. She is a member of the Athletes’ Council of the European Paralympic Committee (EPC). She has been actively involved in promoting equality in sports and society and advocating for the rights of people with disabilities.
